According to the guys over at Autoblog, VW is going to unveil the diesel-powered 2013 Beetle TDI at the Chicago Auto Show next month. VW hasn’t released any official details about the diesel Beetle, but it’s expected that it will be powered by the same 2.0L turbo-diesel that powers the diesel Golf, Jetta and Passat models.
In the Golf, the 2.0L diesel generates 140 horsepower and 236 lb-ft. of torque and gets up to 42 mpg. The diesel will be also reportedly be offered in the upcoming Beetle convertible, which is going to arrive later this year.
