2013 Mitsubishi Outlander Previewed Ahead of Geneva Debut

After releasing a teaser photo of the new 2013 Mitsubishi Outlander, we now have our first official look at the all-new Outlander ahead of its debut next month at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show.

Mitsubishi has released a single photo of the new Outlander. The third-generation 2013 Outlander will remain about the same size as the current model, but will get an exterior that takes cues from the PX-MiEV II concept. in Europe the 2013 Outlander will launch with new a choice between two engines, a 2.0L MIVEC gasoline engine or a 2.2L MIVEC clean diesel. A start-stop system will help improve the Outlander’s fuel efficiency and the engines can be mated to an all-new 6-speed automatic. A new “eco-friendly driving system” will also alert the driver when they are driving at maximum efficiency.

Mitsubishi has also announced that a plug-in hybrid version of the Outlander will be available in 2013. The system will combine a 2.0L gas engine with two electric motors, one on each axle. It will be able to travel up to 30 miles in full electric mode.

Sales of the all-new Outlander will kick of in Europe this summer before it reaches other markets like Japan and North America.
