2013 Honda Crosstour Concept Unveiled in New York

Honda’s controversial Crosstour is getting an update for the 2013 model year. Today at the New York Auto Show, Honda unveiled the 2013 Crosstour Concept, a preview of the updated crossover.

The updated 2013 Crosstour will go on sale this fall with styling updates and a more fuel-efficient V6 model thanks to a new 6-speed automatic transmission. “Fueled by a combination of versatility, luxury, and efficiency, owners have demonstrated remarkable devotion to the Honda Crosstour,” said John Mendel, executive vice president of sales for American Honda. “The 2013 Crosstour Concept shows how Honda will strengthen the styling and add even more content to one of the most efficient offerings in the class.”

For 2013 Honda is giving the Crosstour more SUV-like styling with a more aggressive front end, new contrasting moldings on the lower door garnish, and cleaner front and rear fascias anchored by the rugged look of finished sill plates provide more visual strength to the Crosstour Concept.

The interior will also get updated with heavily revised trim materials, the addition of an 8-inch, in-dash information display, keyless ignition, and steering-wheel mounted paddle shifters on V-6 models.

Crosstour buyers will have the choice of either a 2.4L four-cylinder or 3.5L V6 engine for the 2013 model year. The 3.5L V6 is now more powerful and will be more fuel efficient thanks to Honda’s variable cylinder management system and the standard six-speed automatic transmission. The 2.4L four-cylinder engine packs 192 horsepower and is mated to a five-speed automatic transmission.
