2013 Chevy Cruze to Get a 2.0L Diesel in the US

GM is set to offer its first diesel powered passenger car in the US since 1985 in 2013. Sources are claiming that GM is currently working on a new diesel engine for the Chevy Cruze that will be offered for the 2013 model year.

The Chevy Cruze is currently sold all over the world and outside of the US it is offered with both gasoline and diesel engines, but currently only gasoline engines are offered in the US. Not much is known about the diesel that will be offered in the US, other than the fact that it will be a 2.0L. In Australia the Cruze is offered as the Holden Cruze and the diesel powered Cruze CDX has a 2.0L diesel that puts out around 147 horsepower and 235 lb-ft. of torque.
