BMW has officially unveiled its rival to the Mercedes CLS, the 2013 6 Series Gran Coupe.

The 6 Series Gran Coupe finally gives BMW a four-door coupe. The Gran Coupe is the third 6 Series model that was originally previewed by the Gran Coupe concept back in 2010. If you’re a fan of the styling of the 6 Series coupe, you’ll be happy to see that the four-door Gran Coupe’s design doesn’t stray too far from the coupe. Compared to the two-door, the Gran Coupe is 4.4 inches longer.

When it arrives in the U.S. next summer, the Gran Coupe will first be offered as the 640i with its 3.0L turbocharged six-cylinder. The 640i will pack 315 horsepower and 330 lb-ft. of torque. It will reach 0-62 mph in 5.4 seconds and have a top speed of 155 mph. Shortly after the 640i arrives, the 650i and 650i xDrive versions will be released. The 650i Gran Coupe will be powered by a 445 horsepower 4.4L twin-turbo V8. The 650i Gran Coupe will reach 0-62 mph in 4.6 seconds.
