GM hasn’t officially announced the changes to the 2012 Chevy Impala, but according to GM sources, the Impala is going to get some upgrades for the new year.
The 2012 Impala will say goodbye to the 3.5L and 3.9L V6 engines and will instead be powered by a 287-hp 3.6L V6. The 3.6L will be mated to a six-speed automatic.
In addition to the new engine, the Impala is expected to get some cosmetic changes to keep it fresh for a few more years. The 2012 Impala will get a new grille, fog lamps and a revised rear end. Inside there will be new color schemes and wood trim pieces. We won’t get our first look at the official changes until the car is unveiled in May or early June (2011 model pictured here).
