The all-new 2012 Chevy Colorado midsize pickup is having its world debut in Thailand. The new Colorado was previewed earlier this year with the Colorado Show Truck concept. The 2012 Colorado will be offered in single-, extended- and crew-cab bodies in high- and low-stance configurations, wide- and narrow-body options, as well as two- and four-wheel-drive configurations.

In Thailand buyers will be able to choose from two Duramax diesel four-cylinder engines. There is a 2.5L with 150 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque and a 2.8L with 180 horsepower and 346 lb-ft. of torque.

“Thailand is excited to be the first market in the world to introduce the all-new Colorado, which represents GM’s most significant play in the midsize pickup truck market ever,” Apfel said. “This is a vehicle built tough for the people of Thailand, by the people of Thailand. It is a truck of which Thailand can be proud.”

GM hasn’t announced if the all-new Colorado will be coming to the U.S., but there is word from the United Auto Workers that it is being considered.
