Lately there have been reports that Honda is going to soon kill off the Ridgeline pickup, but according to Sage Marie, manager of truck product planning at American Honda, those reports are false.

Marie claims that the Ridgeline still plays an important role in the Honda lineup and there are no plans to discontinue it in the foreseeable future. Sales of the Ridgeline have dropped significantly this year. With only 6,500 units being sold in the first nine months of this year compared to 12,700 sold in the same period in 2010. The March earthquake in Japan did stop production of the Ridgeline for three months, but its hard to solely place the blame on the earthquake for the lower sales. The Ridgeline was released in 2005 and hasn’t had any large updates.

For the 2012 model year the Ridgeline received some styling updates, improved fuel efficiency and a new Sport model.
