Cadillac has a few changes in store for the 2012 CTS. The changes will be modest, which will include a refreshed grille. But one thing will be missing from the CTS equipped with the 3.6L V6, the optional manual transmission.

An insider recently confirmed to Inside Line that the CTS 3.6-liter Performance and Premium models are expected to be available only with a six-speed automatic. If you must have a manual transmission, the base 3.0L CTS and the top CTS-V models will still be available with the manual.

GM has yet to officially confirm the change and what caused it, but it’s likely due to a low take rate for the manual equipped models.
