GM officially unveiled the 2010 Pontiac G8 Sport Truck earlier this year with the same 361-horsepower 6.0L V8 as the sedan, well now it looks like the G8 ST might get a V6 as well.

According to Inside Line, the 2010 G8 ST will be available with the direct-injection 3.6L V6 in addition to the V8. That’s the same 300+ horsepower V6 that is planned for the Camaro. Originally the G8 ST was only planned to receive the V8 powerplant, but obviously this decision is due to the high gas prices and consumers’ demand for more fuel-efficient vehicles. The DI V6 is also going to be available in the base sedan in 2010.

The 2010 Pontiac ST will be available late next year.
