2009 Nissan Titan Will Have a Diesel Engine…Will it Help Nissan Sell the Full-Size Truck?


Nissan is currently working on a diesel engine for its full size Titan pickup, according to Japanese newspaper Nikkan Kogyo Shimbun. The new engine is being developed with US truck and engine maker Navistar International Corp.

Navistar Corp currently supplies engines for Ford’s Super Duty pickups and will supply Nissan with V8 diesel engines in 2009.

Nissan is trying to gain market share with in the full size truck market and is hoping the diesel will help them do it. Currently Nissan Titan sales are down 15 percent this year, with only 28,668 sold.
