Honda and the NHTSA hava issued a small recall of some 2008 Honda Elements.

All 2008 Honda Element owners are being asked to visit their nearby Honda dealer as soon as possible to have technicians inspect their vehicle. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration the front bushing bracket of the left trailing arm of the rear suspension may have been improperly welded and could separate from the trailing arm. A separated bushing bracket could cause the suspension to release the lower portion of the wheel hub, causing a loss of control and damage to the brake system which could lead to a crash.

NHTSA advises that current 2008 Honda Element owners stop driving their vehicles immediately until they have them inspected by the dealer. Only 241 vehicles are actually effected by this recall.
