VW has announced that the all-new 2014 VW GTI is going to take the stage at the Geneva Motor Show next week. The new GTI is set to go on sale first in Europe starting this May and for the first time will be offered with with two power levels: 220 horsepower; or 230 hp with the optional performance pack.

McLaren has released the performance specs for the McLaren P1 hybrid supercar that is going to debut next week in Geneva. The P1's hybrid powertrain generates a total 903 horsepower, which is enough to help the supercar reach 0-62 in less than three seconds, 0-124 mph in under seven seconds and an electronically-limited top speed of 217 mph.
Nissan has announced that NISMO will be its exclusive global performance car and motorsports brand and plans to officially open the new NISMO global headquarters and development center in Yokohama, Japan. Ford has announced that Ford drivers with vehicles equipped with SYNC AppLink can soon access Spotify's catalog of more than 20 million tracks on the go. The integration with Spotify to offer the streaming music service in Ford SYNC AppLink-equipped vehicles is the company's first direct collaboration with an automotive manufacturer.
Italian design house, Bertone has created this , which is a one-off Jet 2+2, which is basically an Aston Martin Rapide Shooting Brake. The Jet 2+2 takes the design of the four-door Rapide, but gives it a shooting brake style that is similar in shape to the Porsche Panamera Sports Turismo concept and Mercedes-Benz CLS Shooting Brake. The Bertone 2+2 is going to be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show next month.

The new Porsche 911 Carrera S has been named the 2013 Robb Report Car of the Year. The judges picked the 911 Carrera S due to its "agility, driving dynamics and balance". Audi has unveiled the new audi A3 e-tron plug-in hybrid, which is going to debut at the Geneva Motor Show next month. On the outside the A3 e-tron looks almost identical to the five-door A3, but under the hood its powered by a new plug-in hybrid system that according to Audi provides a glimpse "into the future of mobility as Audi is planning it."
Jeep already ended production of the current Jeep Liberty, but we won't have to wait too long to see its replacement. Jeep's boss Mike Manley has confirmed that the Liberty's successor is going to be unveiled next month at the 2013 New York Auto Show. Although the new Liberty is going to be unveiled in just over a month, it still hasn't been confirmed if it will be called the Liberty, Cherokee or something entirely new.
It's official. Land Rover has announced that the 2013 Range Rover is now available with a new 3.0L supercharged V6, which offers a new more efficient powertrain than the V8 options. Today McLaren has announced the official powertrain specs for the P1. The P1 will be powered by a mid-mounted 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 engine and electric motor that together have a combined output of 903 horsepower.

The wait is over! Chevy has taken the wraps off the 2014 Chevy SS, which will debut this weekend at the Daytona International Speedway as the SS racecar makes its NASCAR debut during the Daytona 500. The Chevy SS borrows the Camaro's platform and marks the Chevy's first V8 rear-wheel-drive sedan since 1996.
Cadillac has announced the introduction of pair of new limited-edition models featuring custom paint will join the Cadillac CTS Coupe and V-Series product lines this year. The Silver Frost Edition will be a special run of 100 CTS-V Coupes featuring a special low-gloss matte paint finish. The Stealth Blue Edition is a more traditional metallic finish and will appear on the CTS Coupe and the high-performance CTS-V in Coupe, Sedan and Wagon body styles.

It looks like someone at Ford accidentally leaked an image of the upcoming 2015 Ford Edge in a powerpoint presentation. The powerpoint slide was created for the Deutsche Bank Global Auto Industry Conference and showed Ford's global lineup. Rather than show the current Ford Edge, the slide contained a small image of the upcoming 2015 Edge.

Honda has announced that the 2013 Honda Fit EV is set to arrive on the East Coast later this month. Up until now the Fit EV has only been available in California and Oregon. The Fit EV will be available for lease at Honda dealerships in selected markets in Massachusetts, Connecticut, Maryland, New York, and New Jersey. Customers will be able to lease the Fit EV for three years at $389 per month.

Mitsubishi has announced that it is going to unveil two new concepts at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show, the Concept GR-HEV and the Concept CA-MiEV.
GM is employing a new lightweight "smart material" on the 2014 Chevy Corvette Stingray, which helps it drop 99 pounds compared to the outgoing Corvette. The 2014 Corvette is the first vehicle to use a GM's new lightweight shape memory alloy wire in place of a heavier motorized actuator to open and close the hatch vent that releases air from the trunk. This allows the trunk lid to close more easily than on the previous models where trapped air could make the lid harder to close.
Mclaren has released a set of interior photos of the upcoming McLaren P1 supercar, which features a very minimalistic design that is fully focused on the driver, and is clear from clutter and distraction. McLaren has designed the interior to feel like the cockpit of a fighter jet, complete with glass canopy overhead.
Kia has already given us a preview of its VW GTI fighter in the form of the three-door pro_cee'd GT. Kia plans to also offer it in a five-door version and a photo of it has surfaced online ahead of its debut next month in Geneva. The five-door version gets the same aggressive exterior styling as the three-door, which should make it a great alternative to the VW GTI. Under the hood it will be powered by a 201-hp 1.6-liter GDI turbocharged engine that is mated to a six-speed manual transmission.
Holden has taken the wraps off the new VF Commodore in Australia, which will be exported to the US in form of the new 2014 Chevy SS rear-wheel-drive sedan. "The VF Commodore really is a class above," said Holden Chairman and Managing Director Mike Devereux. Chevy has confirmed the rumors, the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray convertible will make its world debut on March 5 at the Geneva Motor Show. Toyota has unveiled the redesigned 2014 Toyota Tundra full-size pickup today at the 2013 Chicago Auto Show. Toyota says that the new Tundra has been redesigned inside and out, while it was designed by Toyota's design centers in Newport beach, Calif. and Ann Arbor. The Tundra will also be built exclusively at Toyota's plant in San Antonio, Texas.
Kia has unveiled the Cross GT Concept in Chicago, which signals Kia's intentions to release a larger premium crossover than the current Kia Sorento. "The debut of the GT in 2011 heralded a new frontier for Kia, both from a design and a business perspective," noted Peter Schreyer, Kia Motors Corporation president and global chief of design. "It beautifully illustrated to the world that the brand was ready to explore the possibility of perhaps one day offering a full-size rear-drive luxury saloon. The Cross GT, with its raised stance and large cargo area, allows us to envision the GT in the form of a full-size luxury crossover."

VW has announced that it will offer two limited-edition models for the GTI for the 2013 model year and the release of the 2014 Beetle Convertible R-Line.
VW has unveiled the limited-edition 2014 VW Beetle GSR, which is inspired by the 40 year old Volkswagen Beetle GSR (Gelb Schwarzer Renner or "Yellow Black Racer"), which was based on a 1303S and was instantly recognizable by its color scheme. Just 3500 units were built.
Chevy has unveiled the 2014 Chevy Cruze Clean Diesel, which will arrive this summer starting at $25,695. The Cruze Clean Diesel is powered by a 2.0L clean diesel engine that packs 148 horsepower and gets up to 42 mpg on the highway.
BMW has unveiled a new version of the popular BMW 3 Series, the 2014 3 Series Gran Turismo. The 3 Series Gran Turismo is the 3 Series version of the somewhat unloved 5 Series Gran Turismo. It features a hatchback design and is 7.9 inches longer than the 3 Series Sports wagon, offers a 4.3 inch longer wheelbase and stands 3.2 inches taller.
BMW has yet unveil the 2013 BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo, but the first set of photos have already leaked online. The 3 Series Gran Turismo is a more versatile version of the 3 Series, which also looks like a smaller version of the 5 Series Gran Turismo. The 3 Series Gran Turismo will be powered by the same powertrains as the sedan version and will also be available with rear-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive.
Infiniti has announced that the 2014 Infiniti Q50 will debut at the Geneva Motor Show with a new powertrain that will be borrowed from Mercedes-Benz. The Q50 for Europe includes the first fruit of the co-operation agreement with Daimler aka Mercedes-Benz. "The Infiniti Q50 is a world-class sports saloon with an engine line-up that will clearly demonstrate its intentions to be a major player within the European premium market," said Bernard Loire, Vice President, Infiniti Africa, Middle East and Europe (AMIE).
Automakers like Ford and Hyundai have been pushing more turbocharged engines in their lineup as replacements for conventional engines, due to the turbocharged engines' claimed MPG and performance gains, but Consumer Reports isn't convinced. Automakers love to boast that turbocharged engines provide the power of larger engines, but deliver the fuel economy of smaller engines, but is it actually true? Consumer Reports claims that its own internal testing says otherwise.
Mercedes-Benz has confirmed that the high-performance version of the new CLA, the CLA45 AMG will have its world debut at the upcoming New York Auto Show, which kicks off a the end of March. Mercedes-Benz hasn't announced what will officially power the CLA45 AMG, but it's reportedly going to be powered by a 2.0L turbocharged engine with 335-hp and 295 lb-ft. of torque. The engine will be paired with a seven-speed dual clutch transmission and all-wheel-drive.
The Baltimore Ravens took home the win last night at Super Bowl XLVII and Baltimore Ravens Quarterback Joe Flacco received the MVP award. Chevy was the official sponsor of the Super Bowl XLVII MVP Award and presented Flacco with the keys to a 2014 Chevy Corvette Stingray. The honor of awarding the Super Bowl XLVII MVP Award was given to Rick Flick of New Orleans' Banner Chevrolet, who knows a thing or two about comebacks. Chrysler has taken the wraps off the latest version of the Dodge Challenger, the 2013 Dodge Challenger R/T Redline, which is based on the Challenger R/T. It features unique exterior accents, a performance suspension and signature 20-inch Black Chrome wheels with a Redline Red accented lip.

Mercedes-Benz has unveiled the updates to the 2014 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG, which for the new year gets even more aggressive with the addition of a newly developed "Edition 507". The 2014 C63 AMG "Edition 507" uses much of the same technology as the SLS AMG: the eight-cylinder naturally aspirated engine features forged pistons, connecting rods and a lightweight crankshaft as seen on the super sports car.
