2008 Honda S2000 CR on Sale Date Pushed Back to October 6th


The newest version of the Honda S2000 was set to go on sale this week, but Honda has decided to push the on sale date back a few weeks to October 6th.

The Honda Civic Mugen RR which is based on the JDM Civic Type R in Japan has a limited production of 300 units. On September 14th at 9am in Japan, the car went on sale. 10 minutes later 300 reservations had been received, which meant the limited edition car was sold out.

2008 Chevy Aveo 5-Door Unveiled...Boy is it Ugly!


Chevrolet unveiled the 5-door Chevy Aveo today for the European market. It's basically the same Aveo 5-door that we get in the US, but with a new front end that is very similar to the new Malibu sedan, although it is so not cute.

Honda has unveiled the Accord Tourer Concept that is supposed to give a hint of the styling direction of the next Accord and Accord Tourer (UK) that will debut next year. More importantly this concept could also provide hints of what the next Acura TSX is going to look like in the US, since the TSX is essentially the same as the UK Accord.

Today BMW unveiled the new X6 Concept, which is supposed to be very close to what we will actually see in showrooms. The X6 crossover is an exercise in design over function, which is apparent with the raked roof that plunges downward after the B pillar. This significantly compromises rear seat room and the luggage capacity of the X6. BMW is betting that X6 buyers will be willing to give up that extra space for additional style over its X5 crossover.

Volkswagen is returning to its rear-engine roots with the unveiling of the up! concept car. According to the automaker this small four seater car could actually see production.

VW CEO Martin Winterkorn has made a pledge to close the gap between Toyota and VW. The automaker has set a goal of ten years to catch up to Toyota in terms of productivity and profit. Porsche CEO Wendelin Wiedeking also backs the plan. Wiedeking sees Toyota as the benchmark.

For years there has been speculation that Ford may eventually kill off Mercury due to weak sales. The current Mercury lineup is aging and there seems to be little new projects in the works. Could this mean that Ford is finally letting Mercury die a slow death?

Lincoln Mark LT 2006-2008 R.I.P.


It seems that the Lincoln Mark LT luxury pickup has failed to meet sales targets. The Lincoln version of the Ford F-150 was launched for the 2006 model year, but as failed to find a following. The latest reports state that the truck will be discontinued after the 2008 model year.

Chevrolet as announced the pricing for its all-new 2008 Malibu sedan. The base LS will start at $19,995 and the hybrid variant is going to start at $22,790.

BMW has just announced the 335i is going to get all-wheel-drive, which actually makes it faster than the rear-wheel-drive version. Infiniti is likely to make AWD optional on the new G37 coupe to keep it competitive with the 3-Series coupes and the upcoming Audi A5/S5.

2008 Lexus GS450h Unveiled...Lexus Adds Another Hybrid to its Lineup

This month at the Frankfurt Motor Show Lexus is going to debut the European version of the IS-F and the hybrid version of the GS sedan, dubbed the GS450h.

The "F" version of the Lexus IS was unveiled earlier this year. The M3 fighter has a 5.0L V8 with over 400 horsepower. It is now rumored that Lexus is working on an "F" version of the GS sedan.
