Ford has announced the pricing and overall specs for the 2008 Ford Taurus (aka. Ford Five-Hundred). The new Taurus will start under $24k and will cost thousands less than its main competition (Toyota Avalon and Chrysler 300).

The Union of Concerned Scientists (UCS) has named Honda as "2007 Greenest Automaker". The group ranks automakers U.S. auto fleet by overall performance of smog-forming emissions and greenhouse gas emissions. This is the fourth consecutive time that Honda has won the title of "greenest automaker"

Sales of the Chrysler Crossfire have never really taken off. The car is based on the previous generation Mercedes SLK, which was not enough to drive sales.
Toyota's sales increased 9% last month compared to March 2006. This was largely driven by sales of the new Camry, the RAV4 and the Prius.

Volkswagen has unveiled the new 2008 Touareg 2 at the New York Auto Show. This is a very mild refreshening of their mid-size SUV. The new version features revised headlights, dark-tinted brake lights and a new chrome grille that is similar to the other VWs.
The 2008 VW Jetta SportWagen has been unveiled today at the New York Auto Show. The new wagon version of the popular Jetta will be offered with three engine configurations, a 2.5L five-cylinder, the 2.0T four-cylinder and a 2.0L diesel engine.

Volvo has released pricing for the 2008 Volvo C30 that will go on sale in the U.S. this coming October. The C30 Version 1.0 will start at $22,700 and comes standard with the turbocharged T5 five-cylinder producing 227hp, a 160 watt stereo, 17" wheels and power windows.
According to GM Vice President Bob Lutz, President Bush's proposed fuel efficiency increases could raise car prices by as much as $5,000.

Japan's number 2 automaker, Honda has always been known for its fuel-efficient and reliable vehicles. The New York Times has posted an article about Honda's recent commitment to safety as well. "It wants to join Volvo as an automaker best known for safety."
