Bad guys beware! Ford is preparing the 2020 Ford Police Interceptor Utility vehicle, which will be the quickest cop car when it arrives. Based on the next-generation Ford Explorer, the Ford Interceptor Utility vehicle is powered by a new hybrid powertrain that gives it a faster 0-100 mph time of any other cop car.

Ford hasn’t released the specs yet, but the 2020 Ford Police Interceptor Utility vehicle with its available 3.0L EcoBoost V6 is able to outperform its V8 powered sedan rivals. The Explorer-based Interceptor Utility is also available with a hybrid powertrain that beats all of its V8 powered SUV rivals with the fastest 0-100 mph, fastest lap and fastest average lap times.

The Explorer Interceptor Utility is also fuel efficient, since the hybrid version is expected to have a 24 mpg combined rating, which is approximately 40 percent better than the current 3.7-liter V6.

The 2020 Ford Police Interceptor Utility is available for order now with the first deliveries planned by the summer of 2019. Ford has also says that it now comes with $2,000 in standard features, which includes a built-in modem, Bluetooth pass-through voice commands, LED high- and low-beam headlamps, four programmable steering wheel switches, and a Class III trailer-tow bar to give it a 5,000 pound towing capability.
