Last month it was reported that VW’s upcoming three-row SUV will be called the Teramont, but now a new report claims that it will actually be called the Atlas. According to Automotive News, the VW is actually going to use the Atlas name instead.
Even though VW hasn’t confirmed it, we won’t have to wait that long to get the official details. VW is going to reveal the new SUV in California on October 27. If VW does in fact name the new SUV Atlas, that means it will be moving from its current naming strategy of using names that start with a “T” for its SUVs.
The new SUV will ride on VW’s MQB platform and will reportedly come standard with a turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder. A 280-hp 3.6L V6 will be optional.
