VW Golf Alltrack is an Off-Road Ready Golf

VW has unveiled the Golf Alltrack, which is based on the Golf SportWagen, but thanks to the addition of all-wheel-drive and a 20 mm higher ground clearance, it’s a bit more rugged.

VW has unveiled the Golf Alltrack, which is based on the Golf SportWagen, but thanks to the addition of all-wheel-drive and a 20 mm higher ground clearance, it’s a bit more rugged.
Compared to the Golf SportWagen, the Golf Alltrack gets black plastic trim over the wheel arches and rocker panels to add more protection. Reflex Silver accents have been applied to the sid e sills, bumpers and mirror caps. The radiator grille also gets honeycomb accents and the Golf Alltrack rides on 17-inch “Valley” alloy wheels.

Golf Alltrack buyers can choose between three diesel engines and a single gasoline engine. The diesel three turbodiesel TDI four-cylinder engines range from 108 to 181 horsepower, while the gasoline turbo four generates 177 horsepower.

The Golf Alltrack will go on sale in Europe by summer 2015. It’s not known if it will go on sale in the U.S.
