It’s being reported that VW has already given the Beetle Dune concept the green light with a production model expected to arrive in early 2016.

VW Beetle Dune Concept

Last week VW hinted again at the fact that the Beetle Dune concept was a production-ready model. Now it’s being reported that VW has already given the Beetle Dune concept the green light with a production model expected to arrive in early 2016.
When the Beetle Dune arrives it will be offered in both body styles. Compared to the standard Beetle it will ride 2-inches higher and its width will be widened by an inch. Sadly even though it appears more “off-road ready,” it’s also being reported that it will not be offered with all-wheel drive. It is expected to be offered with the 2.0L turbocharged engine and if the reports are true, we can expect it to demand around a $4,000 premium over the standard Beetle.
