VW Beetle Dune Concept Hits the Road, VW Reiterates That It's Production Ready

VW has released a new set of photos of the Beetle Dune Concept and reiterated the fact that it is basically production ready.

Earlier this year VW unveiled the Beetle Dune Concept at the Detroit Auto Show. At the time the concept appeared nearly production ready and VW has reiterated that fact with a series of new photos of the concept driving in Sylt, Germany.

The Beetle Dune Concept is based on the production Beetle, but its ready to go off-road since its body has been raised by 50 mm and new 19-inch wheels give it a more rugged look. A rear-mounted ski-rack is reminiscent of those fitted to classic Beetles, which can also hold a sandboard.
