Volvo’s new XC40 crossover is ready to take on the compact crossover segment. Not only can you subscribe to the XC40 for as little as $600 a month, but it will also keep you from having to stop at the annoying gas station. The EPA has announced that the 2019 XC40 is rated at 31 mpg on the highway and 23 mpg in the city.
The all-wheel drive 2019 XC40 is more fuel efficient than the Audi Q3 (20/28 mpg) and the BMW X1 xDrive28i (22/31). The XC40 is powered by a turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder with 248 horsepower and 258 lb-ft. of torque, which beats the X1 with its 228 horsepower, although both crossovers have the same torque specs.
Pricing for the 2019 Volvo XC40 starts at $35,200. If you want something cheaper, Volvo will eventually introduce a cheaper XC40 with 185 horsepower and front-wheel drive.
