The 2019 Volvo S60 is going to arrive in US showrooms later this year and now Volvo has announced that production of the all-new 2019 S60 has kicked off at its plant in Ridgeville, South Carolina. This marks the first time a Volvo has been built in the US.
“We’re proud to launch Volvo’s first American-made car,” said Jeff Moore, Vice President, Manufacturing, Americas. “Our team is dedicated to delivering the exceptional craftsmanship, Scandinavian design and dynamic feel that defines the Volvo brand.”
The S60 won’t the only model produced in South Carolina, since the next-generation Volvo XC90 SUV will also be built at the same plant when it arrives in 2021.
The 2019 Volvo S60 T5 starts at $36,795, but if that’s too much of a commitment you can do the Care by Volvo subscription service which starts at $775 a month.
