Volvo has just announced that they will end production of the performance oriented "R" models at the end of the year.
Currently the only R models that the company had were the S60R and V70R, although they had already announced that they were not planning on producing an R version of the recently introduced 2008 Volvo V70. Although there will not be any more R badged vehicles, the company will still produce some performance oriented cars, such as the C30 T5 and the S80 V8.
