We were sad when Volkswagen decided to not bring the ID.3 hatchback to the United States, but luckily we’re getting its second new electric vehicle, the ID.4 crossover. It’s slated to debut in late September, but VW has decided to release a few details early.
The good news is that the first deliveries of the VW ID.4 are slated to arrive before the end of the year. VW will also start taking pre-orders for the ID.4 next month with a $100 deposit. The tiny deposit holds your spot in line to get the ID.4, but if you give VW an additional $400 deposit, it locks in your configured ID.4 with your preferred dealer.
VW hasn’t released the pricing for the ID.4, but it’s expected to be in the $30,000 range, after the $7,500 federal tax credit. Stay tuned for all the details next month.
