Volkswagen has unveiled the all-new 2019 VW Jetta at the Detroit Auto Show. The 2019 Jetta is now based on the MQB platform with and gets a bolder exterior with more interior space than the last generation.

Compared with the current Jetta, the 2019 Jetta now has a longer wheelbase, 105.7 inches compared to 104.4 inches. The 2019 Jetta is also longer, wider and taller than the outgoing model, which translates to more interior space. Outside, the 2019 Jetta features a more sculpted exterior, while a larger front grille and sharper lines give it a bolder look. A fast-sloping roof line creates a sportier, coupe-like profile, but it’s not as coupe-like as other four-door coupes.

Inside, the 2019 Jetta’s interior features more soft-touch materials throughout with new trapezoidal design elements. Jetta SEL and SEL Premium models feature come standard with the Volkswagen Digital Cockpit display, which features a reconfigurable display. The 2019 Jetta is available with the Volkswagen Car-Net system that adds Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and MirrorLink. Plus the 2019 Jetta is the first Volkswagen in the U.S. to offer an available 400-watt BeatsAudio system.

The 2019 Jetta is powered by a 1.4-liter turbocharged engine with 147 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque. The four-cylinder cab be mated to either a six-speed manual transmission or an eight-speed automatic transmission.

The 2019 Volkswagen Jetta will be available in S, SE, SEL, and SEL Premium trim levels and will arrive in the second quarter of 2018.
