Volkswagen is reportedly going to bring back a little piece of its past with the introduction of a new Rabbit Edition of the 2019 VW GTI. The 2019 VW GTI Rabbit Edition isn’t going to get any big performance upgrades, but it will add a few styling upgrades over the standard GTI.

2018 Volkswagen GTI Review

For new VW fans that aren’t familiar with the Rabbit name, VW branded the first-generation Golf as the Rabbit in the United States and Canada. It also used the Rabbit name again for the fifth-generation Golf, but then decided to go back to the Golf name when the sixth-generation hatchback arrived.

The 2019 VW GTI Rabbit Edition hasn’t been unveiled yet, but we do know that it will get a blacked out treatment thanks to 18-inch gloss black alloy wheels, a black spoiler, and black mirror caps. The Rabbit Edition will be available in four exterior colors: Cornflower Blue, Urano Grey, Pure White, or Deep Black.

The GTI Rabbit Edition will also get a few extra features, like adaptive LED headlights and unique floor mats.

VW only plans to produce 3,000 2019 GTI Rabbit Edition models.
