Volkswagen is getting ready to unveil its next electric vehicle, the ID.5. VW is going to give us our first look at its new electric crossover with the debut of the ID.5 GTX concept, which will debut in Munich on September 7.
The ID.5 will be the first coupe-like crossover that’s based on Modular Electric Drive Matrix (MEB) platform. Although the ID.5 GTX concept teasers we’re seeing today show a camouflaged concept, it’s expected that the concept will be pretty close to the production version.
The ID.5 GTX is the performance version of the ID.5, just like the ID.4 GTX. It’s powered by two electric motors, one on each axle that generate a combined 295 horsepower.
VW says that the ID.5 will arrive in 2022.
