Just a few weeks ago the Volkswagen I.D. R Pikes Peak electric race car set a new record at the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb and now it’s done it again – this time at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. Romain Dumas climbed in the I.D. R again to set at a new record for electric cars at the event’s hill climb.

With a time of only 43.05 seconds, Romain Dumas beat the previous record that dates back to 2013 when Jonny Cocker completed the sprint in 47.34 seconds in a Lola-Drayson B12 69/EV. Cocker’s record wasn’t just beat Dumas in the I.D. R, since Nio with its EP9 equipped with racing slicks set a time of 44.61 seconds.
