The first photos of the Vision Mercedes-Maybach Ultimate Luxury concept have leaked ahead of its debut next week in Beijing. Mercedes-Benz hinted that the concept would combine the best attributes of a sedan and SUV, which has translated to a concept that looks like a high riding sedan, more than a traditional SUV.
The leaked photos also reveal the concept’s bold grille with vertical slats that is similar to the new Mercedes-Maybach S-Class. Inside there’s room for four passengers with a center console that stretches from the front to the back. While a champagne cooler and glasses would seem more at home here, the concept instead shows off a fancy tea set for the passengers to enjoy on their journey.
Mercedes hasn’t revealed any details about the Vision Mercedes-Maybach Ultimate Luxury concept, but Autocar is reporting that it is powered by a fully electric powertrain with four electric motors that generate a whopping 738 horsepower. A 80-kWh battery pack gives the concept a 310 mile range on the New European Driving Cycle (NEDC).
We’ll have more details when the concept debuts on Wednesday, but it is expected that the next-generation GLS SUV will borrow some cues from Vision Mercedes-Maybach Ultimate Luxury concept.
