Toyota’s upcoming fuel cell vehicle was expected to arrive early next year, but a new report claims that it could arrive by the end of 2014.
Progress on the fuel cell vehicle is reportedly ahead of schedule. According to The Japan Times, Toyota is expected to start production in mid December. Toyota isn’t the only automaker that’s working fast to bring new hydrogen fuel cell vehicles to market. Hyundai’s Tucson fuel cell crossover went on sale in California last month and Honda is expected to unveil its new fuel cell vehicle later this year.

It’s also being reported that the Toyota fuel cell vehicle will be priced around 8 million yen ($78,000), but by 2020 Toyota hopes to drop that price to the $30k-$50k range.
