We’re still waiting, somewhat patiently for Toyota and Subaru to unveil the rear-wheel-drive FT-86 sports car. Car and Driver recently came across a logo for the Toyota version. It’s been expected that the coupe will be powered by a Subaru 2.0L flat four-cyl engine and this logo provides more proof… toyota_ft_86_concept_fr_logo.jpg

The logo is a cross section of a boxer engine with a highly stylized number 86 in the center. The fact that 86 is being used in the logo provides more evidence that Toyota is planning on using “86” in the production name of the coupe. The “86” pays homage to the AE86 Corolla of the 1980’s.

The car is expected to officially debut late next year and go on sale in 2012 with pricing starting in the low-$20k range.
