Toyota has confirmed that the 2013 model year will be the last year for the Matrix in the US.
It’s been rumored for a while that the Toyota Matrix’s days were numbered. With an all-new Corolla arriving this fall, it was a matter of time until Toyota sealed the Matrix’s fate. Toyota has now confirmed that the 2013 model year will be the last year for the Matrix in the US.
Toyota spokesman Maurice Durand told Cars.com, “With a strong lineup of both Scion and Toyota compact and subcompact hatchback models available, along with the new Corolla this fall, both brands will be well equipped to address a wide range of consumer needs in their respective segments.”
The Matrix actually sells pretty well in Canada, so although it’s officially canceled in the US, it will live on in Canada.
