Ford just released a newly restyled Ford Focus in the US, but it still not the same Ford Focus that is offered in Europe. This is finally going to change in 2010.

According to Derrick Kuzak, product chief at Ford, the next-generation Ford Focus will receive about 87 percent of its parts from Ford’s global parts bin, this includes the C1 platform. The current, can I say bland Focus will be phased out in 2010 and replaced by a new Focus that will be built on the C1 platform. The new model will also receive some of the styling cues from the much better looking European Focus.

Ford’s new global strategy which also includes the new Ford Fiesta, which will be sold here in 2009, is expected to cut overall engineering costs by 30 percent.
