The Chrysler PT Cruiser May Die After 2009…Good News?

Chrysler execs have confirmed that the aging PT Cruiser is going to stay in production until at least the end of 2009. The automaker has made no promises that the car will be built after 2009 nor if there will be a next-generation model.

When the PT Cruiser first launched in 2000 it was a sales success, but since then sales have dropped off considerably. Increased competition from cars like the Chevrolet HHR and other wagon-like crossovers have hurt the sales of the PT Cruiser. Chrysler has sold over 1 million of the cars, but its days may be numbered.
