All of the Tesla news lately has focused on the Model 3, but that doesn’t mean that we’ve forgotten about its next model, the Model Y crossover. During today’s shareholder meeting Elon Musk briefly showed a new teaser of the Model Y and even provided a few new details about what we can expect from Tesla’s second crossover.

Tesla Model Y Teaser

The Tesla Model Y is a smaller crossover that will likely be more popular than even the Model 3 with its over 450k reservations. During the meeting Elon Musk stated that the “Model Y will not have any leather in it, even in the steering wheel – even if it does have a steering wheel.”

Given Tesla’s issues with its Autopilot its doubtful that the Model Y will debut without a steering wheel, but at least we know that it will be Peta-friendly without any leather used to wrap the interior.

We should get our first look at the Tesla Model Y in March 2019 before it arrives in 2020.
