For starters the Tesla Model Y will share its platform with the Model 3, but it will be about 10 percent larger and also cost 10 percent more. Since it will be a bit bigger than the Model 3, the Model Y will also have slightly less driving range.

Since the Model Y will cost about 10 percent more than the Model 3, we can expect it to start around $40,000 if it’s offered with the same battery pack as the standard Model 3. There have been rumors that the Model Y will be a three-row crossover, but we’ll have to wait until March 14 to find out.
