With only 750 units planned, the 2019 Mercedes-AMG GT R Roadster is the ultimate AMG-GT Roadster if you like exclusivity.

Mercedes-Benz has shaved the top off the Mercedes-AMG GT R Coupe and replaced it with three-layer fabric roof to create the GT R Roadster. Other than the roof, the rest is the same. That means that the Mercedes-AMG GT R Roadster is powered by the same twin-turbocharged 4.0L V8 with 577 horsepower and 516 lb-ft. of torque that’s mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.

It only takes 3.5 seconds for the GT R Roadster to reach 60 mph on its way to a top speed of 197 mph.

The 2019 Mercedes-AMG GT R Roadster also features the same widened body and adjustable coil-over suspension with active rear axle steering as the coupe. It also rides on unique 19-inch wheels in front and 20-inch wheels at the rear.

Some other new additions include, Air Curtains on the outside of the front bumper to help it slide through the wind easier and a badge on the center console to signify that each GT R Roadster is only one “1 of 750”. Inside the GT R Roadster also gets AMG black carbon fiber trim elements, the Exclusive Trim Package, AMG Performance seats wrapped in Nappa leather and an AMG Performance steering wheel.

The 2019 Mercedes-AMG GT R Roadster will have its world debut this week at the Geneva Motor Show.
