Tesla has now officially delivered the first batch of Model 3 cars to its new owners. The first 30 Tesla Model 3 sedans were delivered at an event at Tesla’s factory in Fremont, California where Tesla CEO Elon Musk revealed even more updates about the highly anticipated electric car.
The big news that we’ve all been waiting to hear is about the pricing for the Model 3. We already knew that the pricing would start at $35,000 for the base Model 3, but now we have more details. The Model 3 initially will be offered in Standard and Long Range versions. The Tesla Model 3 Standard will start at $35,000 and have a driving range of 220 miles and a 0-60 mph time of 5.6 seconds.
If you want a longer driving range, you can opt for the Model 3 Long Range model, which starts at $44,000 and has 310-mile driving range, with a 0-60 mph time of only 5.1 seconds.
Tesla only delivered 30 Model 3 sedans at the event, but according to Elon Musk, the automaker has actually produced 50 units this month, with the additional 20 being used for testing. With 400,000 reservations for the Model 3, Tesla has a long road ahead to deliver all the current reservations. Tesla is hoping to get to the point that it’s producing 5,000 units per week, which will hopefully happen by the end of the year.
