Subaru has unveiled its largest vehicle ever, the 2019 Subaru Ascent. Crossovers are king here, so it only makes sense that Subaru finally add a large three-row crossover to its lineup.

The 2019 Ascent is based on a strengthened and extended version of the Subaru Global Platform. It’s 113.8-in. wheelbase, is the largest Subaru ever built. With 153.5 cubic feet of passenger volume the Ascent provides room for up to eight passengers. Rear doors open 75 degrees for improved access to the third row and there are eight USB charging ports available throughout the cabin and a 120-volt power outlet based in the rear of the center console allow charging for multiple electronic devices. The Ascent is obviously designed for families with 19 standard cup and bottle holders. 4G LTE connectivity will also keep everyone entertained.

2019 Subaru Ascent

The Ascent has up to nine unique seating configurations and two rows of 60/40 split flat-folding seats offering up to 72.6 cubic feet of cargo space. A second row bench seat comes standard, but buyers can choose second-row captain chairs as well.

Under the hood the Ascent is powered by a new 2.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder boxer engine with 260 horsepower and 277 lb-ft. of torque. The four-cylinder is mated to a CVT and the power is sent to all four wheels via Subaru’s Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system. Lastly the Ascent can tow up to 5,000 pounds and has 8.7 inches of ground clearance.

The 2019 Subaru Ascent will be available in base, Premium, Limited and Touring trim lines when it goes on sale next summer.
