The MKX name is out and is being replaced by a more memorable name – Nautilus. Lincoln has unveiled its updated midsize crossover, which will no longer be called the Lincoln MKX and instead will now be called the Lincoln Nautilus.
Just like the 2019 Lincoln MKC, the 2019 Lincoln Nautilus gets a face that is similar to the Continental. The former winged grille on the MKX has been replaced by a more traditional and more luxurious grille. The rest of the updated face also gets new headlights and a restyled bumper.
Inside the changes are smaller with some trim updates and a new steering wheel that is mounted ahead of a 12.3-inch fully configurable digital instrument cluster. Acoustic side glass is added to reduce wind noise for rear passengers and available Ultra Comfort seats can be adjusted up to 22 ways for personalized comfort. Heated and cooled seats are available on the Reserve model. Plus 13-speaker and 19-speaker Revel audio systems are available. A large center touch screen provides access to SYNC 3 with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.
The base engine in the 2019 Nautilus is a 245-hp 2.0-liter, turbocharged 4-cylinder, while the more exciting option is the 2.7-liter, twin-turbocharged V-6 with 335 hp and 380 lb-ft. of torque. Both engines are mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission and auto start-stop capability is standard.
For buyers that want to personalize their Nautilus there are three Lincoln Black Label themes: Chalet, Thoroughbred and Gala.
The 2019 Lincoln Nautilus will arrive next summer.
