Subaru has unveiled the very limited Impreza WRX STI 20th Anniversary Edition in Japan.
Although it would be easy to assume that this 20th Anniversary Edition has been built to celebrate 20 years of the STI, but the original STI was only released in 1994. Instead the 20th Anniversary Edition STI celebrates the 20th anniversary of the founding of Subaru Tecnica International, Subaru’s performance division in Mitaka, Tokyo.
The anniversary edition costs about $4,720 more than the regular STI in Japan, but unfortunately the extra money doesn’t yield any extra horsepower under the hood, since the limited edition STI is powered by the same Japan-spec. 304 horsepower turbo 2.0-liter engine. What you do get is new shocks and coil springs to sharpen the steering response and to make the car more agile. Outside 18-inch STI alloy wheels, matte-black roof spoiler and thin front lip spoiler separate the Anniversary Edition from the standard STI.
If you want to get one of them you better hurry since only 300 will be built for Japan only consumption.
