Shelby Supercars (SSC) has managed to beat the world’s record for the world’s fastest production car.
Yesterday SSC closed down a two lane stretch of highway in Washington State to attempt to beat the record with the 1183 horsepower Ultimate Aero Twin Turbo.
In order to qualify SSC had to test the vehicle twice in each direction of the highway. The Ultimate Aero TT posted a top speed of 257.11 mph on its first pass and 254.55 mph on its second pass, averaging 255.83 mph.
Of course the times have to be verified before the Ultimate Aero Twin Turbo is given the title of “World’s Fastest Production Car”.
