If you decide to finance the Focus Electric you can also get a rate as low as 1.9 percent through Ford Motor Credit. Ford is not the only automaker that is discounting its electric vehicle. Nissan has unveiled the revised 2013 Nissan Leaf, which is now 18 percent cheaper than the 2012 model.

“We certainly are not in a situation where we have to completely discount,, but we do have to respond to competitive pressures,” Ford spokesman Wes Sherwood said. “We’re not anywhere close to where Nissan has gone with the Leaf.”
