Mini is going to be unveiling a very special Cooper S at the Shanghai Motor Show next week. The “Mini inspired by Goodwood” was developed under the guidance of the Rolls-Royce designer team. The exterior and interior design features were developed at the Rolls-Royce Design division in the southern English town of Goodwood.
On the inside the dashboard, including the surrounds of the central instrument and the air vents, the centre console, carpet surfaces, the Lounge leather seats, the roof lining as well as the door, side and body pillar cladding boast the exclusive Rolls-Royce color Cornsilk. The dashboard and door handle surfaces, which are manufactured in Goodwood and are finished in Walnut Burr. The Mini Inspired by Goodwood also boasts Cashmere roof linings, sun visors and rear storage tray as well as foot mats boasting a deep-pile lambswool quality also featured in current Rolls-Royce models.
Under the hood is the turbocharged 1.6L that puts out 184 horsepower. The engine cane be mated to either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic. It will reach 0-62 mph in 7.0 seconds.
Mini has confirmed that the Goodwood edition will be produced starting in spring 2012. Only 1,000 units will be produced.
