Rolls-Royce has unveiled a special one-off version of the Phantom, called the Rolls-Royce Phantom Goldfinger. As its name suggests, the unique Phantom celebrates the 1964 James Bond film Goldfinger and is inspired by Auric Goldfinger’s 1937 Phantom III Sedanca de Ville.

It took Rolls-Royce three years to bring the Rolls-Royce Phantom Goldfinger to life. It’s painted in yellow, just like the 1937 Phantom III Sedanca de Ville with black finish wraps that give it a two-tone design. The special 21-inch black disc wheels are also inspired by the 1937 car.

The Spirit of Ecstacy also references the gold that the villain Auric Goldfinger was smuggling in his Phantom. It has a new gold appearance, since the silver Spirit of Ecstasy has been gold plated with 18-carat gold.

The interior continues the gold theme with 18- and 24-carat gold, like the center console that houses an illuminated 18-carat gold bar that is shaped as a Phantom ‘Speedform’ – a stylised representation of the motor car’s design in miniature.

The front and rear center consoles are also lined with a gold finish and the inner lid of the glovebox is also debossed with Goldfinger’s iconic quote: “This is Gold, Mr. Bond. All my life, I have been in love with its colour, its brilliance, its divine heaviness.” A gold finish has also been added to the air vents, speakers and “organ stops.” The Royal Walnut picnic tables feature a 22-carat gold inlay.

To make it even more special there’s bespoke artwork that spans the entire width of the front fascia. The three-dimensional design, which was hand-drawn, is a precise yet artistic isoline map that shows the contours of the Furka Pass.

“Bringing Phantom Goldfinger into being was one of the Bespoke Collective’s greatest creative journeys to date. The elegant and whimsical features that reference the film’s most memorable moments are an exquisite demonstration of the power of Bespoke in adding a new chapter to an existing story. It was a privilege to be a part of the creative team that brought this highly sought-after collector’s piece to life,” stated Nick Rhodes, Bespoke Designer, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars.
