Porsche has confirmed that it will offer a diesel-powered version of the Macan crossover in the U.S.
Andre Oosthuizen, vice president of marketing for Porsche Cars North America Inc. recently confirmed that news with Automotive News. He also stated that the Macan will be powered by a 3.0L V6 diesel engine with around 245 horsepower. Unfortunately the Macan diesel will not arrive in the U.S. until sometime around late 2015 or early 2016.

Andre Oosthuizen also revealed that the diesel-powered Macan will be priced around $60,000, which means that it will be positioned in between the Macan S and Macan Turbo models. Porsche also sells a four-cylinder powered Macan in other markets outside the U.S., but there currently aren’t any plans to bring it here.
