Although the 2015 Porsche Macan only went on sale in May, Porsche its already sold out. If you were hoping to buy a Macan, you will have to wait at least six months or longer to get one. Because of the long wait Porsche is willing to give you a Boxster or Cayman to keep you happy while you wait.
Most Macan buyers, as much as 80 percent will be new to the Porsche brand, so to keep them from going elsewhere, Porsche is offering a short-term lease on either a Boxster or Cayman. The open-ended lease will run until the buyer’s Macan arrives.

Porsche is reportedly seeing a positive response to the program, but it’s still too early to see how many Macan buyers are taking Porsche up on the short-term lease. Porsche sold 1,263 Macans in the U.S. last month, but supply restraints will limit the Macan’s first-year sales in the U.S. to less than 10,000 units in 2014. Next year that told could move up to 18,000 units.
