Polestar recently launched the new 3 and 4 models, which will soon be followed by the Polestar 5. Now Polestar CEO Thomas Ingenlath has revealed that the Polestar 2 will be replaced by a new model called the Polestar 7.
The new name suggests that the Polestar 7 will be different than its predecessor, but Polestar hasn’t provided any additional details. Speaking to Autocar, Ingenlath stated, “As much as we might build a very similar car, because it has a different number, we won’t have this natural trap where we’re boxed into that concept of what the car had been.”
The Polestar 2 is currently based on the Compact Modular Architecture (CMA) platform, but the Polestar 7 will likely be based on an updated version of the Sustainable Experience Architecture (SEA) platform that’s used by the Polestar 4.
