Opel has unveiled the newest member of the Insignia family, the Opel Insignia Country Tourer, which is going to debut this September in Frankfurt. While the Insignia Sports Tourer is a sportier more “elegant” wagon, the new Insignia Country Tourer is designed for buyers that want a bit more adventure with its higher ground clearance and extra protective body cladding.
Buyers in Europe can choose between either a 250-hp, 2.0L SIDI gasoline engine, a 195-hp 2.0 BiTurbo CDTI diesel or a 163-hp 2.0 CDTI diesel. Both the 2.0 SIDI Turbo and the 2.0 CDTI can be mated to a six-speed manual gearbox or a six-speed automatic transmission, while the 2.0 BiTurbo CDTI is available only with the latter.
The Insignia Country Tourer is able to tackle the unpaved roads with its raised ride height, all-wheel-drive system and larger tires.
Wouldn’t this make a nice addition to the Buick lineup here in the US?
