Yesterday VW unveiled the 2018 T-Roc compact crossover, that’s smaller than the new Tiguan. It’s a stylish new entry in the crowded compact crossover segment, that includes the Honda HR-V and Toyota C-HR. While the VW T-Roc is already confirmed for Europe and China, it may not be coming to the United States.

It was expected that the T-Roc would arrive in the U.S. later in 2018 as a 2019 model, but now Automobile is reporting that it’s not coming at all. A VW insider revealed to the magazine, “The car is meant for Europe and China. The most compact model of the Volkswagen range for the U.S. remains Tiguan.”

Apparently VW currently has no plans to bring the T-Roc here, which could be a mistake, since the new Tiguan has grown in size. For now buyers that want a smaller VW crossover, can get the last generation Tiguan, which is now badged as the Tiguan Limited.

If you live in Europe, sales of the T-Roc will kick off later this year.
